Critic’s Choice: Awards Season Kickoff!

Well, the Oscar nominations have been announced, and we could NOT be more excited. Not one bit. Awards season has officially arrived! You’ll join us for all the fun, won’t you? We’ll be live tweeting the red carpets, dishing on all the fashions, offering up our own Best Dressed Awards and predicting the trends that will have lasting impact throughout the year. Yes, Hollywood cannot give itself enough awards, and we just love it!

First up, let’s talk Critics’ Choice Awards. While we saw lots of pinks and blues and greens popping on the red carpet, the trend that really caught our eye was the Black Statement Dress. Black often signifies playing it classic and safe, but not this time. The stars were sporting some seriously edgy and dramatic styles, ones that made us sit up and go, “Mmmmmm!”

Critics’ darling, Jennifer Lawrence, looked incredible in a gown by Prabal Gurung featuring a bold cutout in front. The Impossible star, Naomi Watts, commanded the carpet in a sheath by Emilio Pucci. And starlet, Jaime King, radiated Hollywood glamour in a plunging dress by Jason Wu.

Of course, the most memorable red-carpet styles always present the conundrum of what to wear underneath. That’s where we come in. It’s not unusual to find Tinseltown’s elite stylists scouring our Hollywood flagship for that perfect piece of shapewear. And they always find it, too. For these particular fashion dilemmas–the front cutout, the lowcut strapless and the plunging neckline with spaghetti straps–we present some of our best solutions: the Nine-Way Convertible Bra Kit, the Body Sculpt Backless Bra and the Hollywood Exxtreme Cleavageâ„¢ Strapless Bra.

Stay tuned for more coverage of all the fashions, easy (and budget-friendly!) ways you can get the look, plus even more what-to-wear-underneath solutions coming soon. Next up: the Golden Globes on Sunday! We cannot WAIT for the Tina Fey-Amy Poehler show!!
