L.A. Best Kept Secret: The Pampered Foot

Today we begin a new feature on the blog called “L.A. Best Kept Secret,” and we’re kicking it off with a place I discovered over the weekend called The Pampered Foot on busy Ventura Boulevard in my lovely hamlet, Studio City.
Like most of L.A.’s best kept secrets, The Pampered Foot is located in an unassuming strip mall.
This is one of those places I’ve driven by day after day, year after year, and always wondered about. Curiously enough in the past week, I’ve had not one–but two–friends tell me I had to check it out. I love both friends dearly, so I did just that.
I was also intrigued that–despite the name–the pampering applies not just to the foot, but includes a full body massage (clothes on) for the ridiculously low price of $25 an hour. Who can pass that up?
So, after a heavenly hour of being kneaded, pulled and de-knotted, I heartily agree with my friends–The Pampered Foot is not to be missed. While the treatment doesn’t approach the intensity of your typical Thai massage, it certainly does the body good. And at a fraction of the price for a more traditional rub down, it’s the perfect (and perfectly affordable) antidote for a stressful week.
