Emmys 2012: A Round-Up
Last night’s Emmys contained some upsets, some safe bets and most importantly some serious fashion. From the no-brainers: Jon Stewart looking dapper in a tuxe and using the word ephemeral in his acceptance speech (swoon) to presenter and winner Claire Danes in a blinding yellow (yes, we can see your career is back), here are the trends we noticed at TV’s big night out.
The Colors Of The Sea:
From a deep Pacific blue to the light azure of the Mediterranean, ocean-inspired hues made waves on the red carpet. Not limited to satin, the stars that went for this soothing shade brought their A-game in sparkles, chiffon and incredible detailing.
Sofia Vergara
Archie Panjabi
Heidi Klum
Julianne Hough
Yellow, Yellow:
Not limited to a vintage-inspired mustard, sunshine or canary, last night’s yellows hit highlighter heights and beyond! The best part? Everyone interpreted it in the most incredible way! Long sleeves, strapless, Grecian–all the usual silhouette suspects were present, but were utterly transformed by the saturated hue.
Clare Danes
Julianne Moore
Leslie Mann
Julie Bowen
Shades of Grey:
Whether you’ve read it or not, the book that’s obviously on our collective pop culture conscious is 50 Shades of Grey. Why else would a notoriously difficult color to pull off be so present at an event? Not that we’re complaining! Fresh and unexpected, it brought a exciting aspect to the same old looks we’ve seen at these evening (or afternoon) events. Bring it on!
Emily Van Camp
Connie Britton
Anna Chlumsky
Elle Morena
Intricate Prints & Patterns:
Daring to standout, these lovely ladies brought a sense of avant garde romance with lavish beading, bold prints and unexpectedly ethereal silhouettes. From a sari-styled number on Hayden Panetierre to the stunning statement worn by Julianna Marguiles, each dress let us know that these are women who want to be noticed!
