Spring has officially sprung and the sound of wedding bells can be heard everywhere. With that in mind, we’re proud to bring you the latest As Seen In post: we made the cover of this month’s issue of Vegas Rated magazine!

Our Sweetheart Corset was shot for the cover of the magazine’s “Wedding Guide” and we have to say, it looks stunning! Styles were submitted by many intimate apparel companies, but Frederick’s was the only brand to make the front.

Behind-The-Scenes: Oscar Set-Up

February 22, 2013 By: fohblogcreative Category: Award Shows, Marvelous Marilyn, Uncategorized

One of the perks of working in the heart of Hollywood is the proximity to hot happenings. And what’s the hottest thing that’s happening right now? The Academy Awards!

The glamour is currently coming together around the intersection of Hollywood and Highland and since it’s just a short hop, skip and a jump way from the office, we decided to head up for lunch and bring you the little seen behind-the-scenes set-up!

There is something eerie and all together awe-inspiring about watching it all come together. Knowing that in a few short days, the eyes of the world will turned to the area where your standing, and that the red-carpet so painstakingly placed will be filled with A-list stars from every corner of the globe.

The stretch of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland is home to some of the best Hollywood has to offer: Weird and the wacky tourist photo ops meet high-end shopping destinations under the shadows of some of the most famous Los Angeles institutions.

The Chinese Grauman Theatre, The Roosevelt Hotel (temporary home to Marilyn Monroe, It-crowd hotspot & site of the first ever Oscars!) are just a few of the historic landmarks this section of the Boulevard offers up—in our minds a more fitting place to host the pageantry of the Oscars doesn’t exist!

Every time we journey past this spot, there are reminders of the Hollywood greats who once stood here. From Bette Davis’s (and many others) handprints to the walk of fame, it’s easy to forget in the every day hustle and bustle that we work in the midst of an incredible legacy.

And even though we know this corner well, we’ll still be glued to the television on Sunday, marveling over the glitz and glamour alongside everyone else–that’s the magic of Hollywood!

Thursday In LA: Art, Aliens & More!

October 19, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Trend Alert, Uncategorized

One of the perks of being an Angeleno (and working in Hollywood) is the  complete and utter lack of dull weekday nights! This Thursday proved to be no exception. When we heard through the office grapevine that our very own Senior Web Designer was hosting an art show/booksigning at one of the more famous galleries around town, we headed over straight after work!  The art gallery, La Luz De Jesus, is located inside Wacko Soap Plant, home to the most extensive inventory of pop culture ephemera in the word. With over two million items to browse, we can say with confidence we’ve never been able to leave without a bag full of kitchy presents or a plush narwal (or two!).

Opening in 1971 as a family run soap store, Wacko gradually added ceramics and leather wear (Elton John was just one of the many celebrity fans). La Luz came to be in the early ’80s and has the distinction of introducing the California genre of art, Lowbrow. If you find yourself in Los Angeles, we highly recommend taking the time to visit. And, if you are fortunate enough to be around at the beginning of the month, the gallery hosts what Details Magazine calls “the best party in town” and the admission is free. Though the store may not contain the weirdest things you’ll see on Hollywood Boulevard, it will contain the most unforgettable. Soap Plant / Wacko / La Luz de Jesus Gallery is located at 4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90027. Open 7 days a week.

Guest Blogger: The Beautiful Things Part 2

July 06, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Guest Blogger, Uncategorized

Welcome to the guest blogger series, part two! Check out “The Beautiful Things” favorite Frederick’s of Hollywood items and her tips on how to style them, below:

I love this Cutout Maxi Dress– the detailing is playfully sexy. Black is one of my favorite colors but to make it more summery, I’d wear lots of gold bracelets and a nude heel.

Light denim looks fabulous when it’s a bit torn, and these jeans are perfectly distressed. I’d pair them with a white tee and some causal flip-flops for a slightly edgy but still put-together look.

I loved the colored denim trend this past fall/spring and there is no reason to ignore the look this summer. I think these shorts would be great paired with a black tank and some bright jewelry.

Statement necklaces are the perfect addition to your jewelry box because they can add instant character to any outfit. I love the detailing on this one and its pop of neon color. I’d wear it over a plain dress to make it more interesting in a non-formal way.

This asymmetrical top looks so easy to wear. Its loose silhouette would pair well with everything from skinny jeans to a maxi skirt to shorts. Plus, it would be super comfortable in warm summer weather.
