Tony Duquette X Coach X The Man Repeller

January 23, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Uncategorized

This past Thursday evening, the West coast was blessed with a visit from one of my most favorite bloggers of ALL TIME – Yes, caps are totally necessary. The Man Repeller graced our humble shores for an evening on Rodeo Dr. to celebrate the launch of a seriously sparkly collaboration between the Tony Duquette estate and Coach.

Gaudy in the best way possible (bejeweled fish clutches, anyone?) the jewelry popped against the classic Coach pieces. Glittering Swarovski crystal, earthy Malachite and bold Lapis were used to create pieces that were a tribute to the iconic designer yet stunningly original.

Male models with chiseled jaws and pretty hair plied the guests with large glasses of champagne and tiny desserts while wearing the most amazing leather Coach aprons that…were not for sale.  I asked. Believe me – I asked. The store manager informed me that they count them after every event and then lock them up in a vault. I may have come on a little strong about the aprons.

You can view the dazzling collection in its entirety here. But I recommend heading over to the store if you get the chance. There are limited edition pieces available only at the Rodeo Dr. and Soho stores that worth checking out and if you ask nicely, I bet they’ll let you try them on.

Leandra repelled quite nicely in floral denim, Alaia heels and a nautically striped blouse. Mobbed for most of the evening by lovely ladies in every sort of turban you could imagine (and some you probably can’t), I couldn’t get a picture of her outfit – but you can check it out here.  And I recommend you do, since the girl can accessorize like a boss. P.S. Leandra – I was the girl circling you in a faux-teddy-bear-fur coat. Didn’t mean to be creeptastic – call me! Just kidding. I think.
