Memorial Day: The Los Angeles Edition
Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the Armed Forces. It’s also known as the start of the summer vacation season (with Labor Day marking the end) and every year a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time. If you live on the Eastside or don’t mind a little holiday traffic to get there, the Silverlake Jubilee is going on Saturday and Sunday. The popular music fest takes place at Sunset Junction and will feature over 80 bands spread out on multiple indoor and outdoor stages, foods trucks and more. Head north on the 1 along the coast to Hermosa Beach for the Fiesta Hermosa. A seaside arts and crafts festival with multiple entertainment stages and 270 vendor booths, it also features a kiddie carnival, petting zoo, Doggie Costume Contest.
