Midweek Inspiration: Photography, Fashion & More!

Between the glory that is New York Fashion Week and Karl Lagerfeld’s birthday, we at Frederick’s are feeling very inspired. Here’s a round-up of our favorite images this week (Zac Posen, swoon) including Lagerfeld’s iconic style, Choupette and the easy way to incorporate jet set into your everyday style via Vera Wang.

Meet Karl Lagerfeld and the most famous feline in fashion, Choupette. With two nannies and as many Ipads to keep her happy, she has the glamorous life that cats (and most people) can only dream of! Karl is of course wearing his signature black glasses, ponytail, and riding gloves, a look he’s adhered to since the early ’90s. See pictures of a young, very buff Karl here.

Zac Posen took the spring by storm with retro, ladylike silhouettes, atomic prints and heavy bangs. The return of this ’60s-inspired look is definitely encouraging us to go through our closets and repurpose some of last year’s staples!

Forget hopping a plane! Vera Wang has brought the lush fabrics of India to you for spring. This is especially exciting given the rich colors and jewel-toned accents–you can definitely transition fall’s offerings into the next season. Win-win!

We know fall has just launched in stores around you, in fact we just put out the new version of our catalog here, but it’s never to early to start looking ahead!  What runway looks have had you swooning?

Guest Blogger: A Keene Sense Of Style

September 07, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Guest Blogger, Uncategorized

We’ve spent hours scrolling through this lovely Angeleno’s photos and have come down with a serious case of style-envy! Her blog is full of ladylike ensembles and  is a constant source of outfit inspiration. Read on to find out where she gets her inspiration, how to balance blogging daily life and more!

What do you do for a day job/ How do you balance your time?

In addition to styling and fashion blogging, I work full time at a Private Equity firm. I balance my time by making sure to schedule everything in my calendar right away. I know that sounds simple but it’s so important to meeting deadlines and being professional in any type of business. Double booking is never good. Also, I try to attend as many things as possible on nights and weekends. Prioritizing is key.

What’s the most exciting opportunity that blogging brought you?

Blogging has brought so many exciting opportunities my way. I have gotten to collaborate with many brands that I have always loved and I get to style clothes which is something that I am very passionate about. It’s very exciting.

What style icons do you look up to?

I love Olivia Palermo because I think she is chic and modern while also being incredibly classic and feminine. Since I also love vintage clothes I look up to the lovely Jackie Kennedy as a style icon also.

What gives you confidence?

I feel the most confident when I am able to take my time in the morning! I am able to go over all the little details of getting myself ready for the day. And I feel best when wearing something feminine and tailored.

What was your most proud moment?

My most proud moment was when I was featured as one of Glamour.com’s best dressed readers! I have always loved their magazine so you can definitely say that I was beaming from ear to ear for a few days. Sometimes it’s just so exciting to see that other people appreaciate your work, whether it be styling an outfit or something else.

What is your favorite decade for style?

Maybe it’s a cliche, but I have always loved the 60′s, the Mad Men era. I mean, the pencil dresses and full skirts are enough to keep my eyes glued to the TV screen, and I love a french twist! I am absolutely obsessed with the wardrobe for the show.
