Dive into Sexy: The New Swim collection

March 08, 2013 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Uncategorized

We are so excited to announce the launch of our incredible (and incredibly sexy), new line of swimwear! Ruffles, ruching and embellishments abound throughout the collection, ensuring that you find a swimsuit that is exactly what you’re looking for.

Below you’ll find our top selections for the sexiest ways to suit up this spring and summer, along with some fit tips to keep you stunning while you’re sunning!

Item Shown: Ruffled Bikini Top & Brief

While it may seem too early to think about jetting off and donning a bikini, the sun is shining (sometimes) and the birds are chirping. Even if you’ve got a foot of snow on the ground, it’s undeniable: spring is on its way. And, with the advent of warm weather, spring break and a slew of other occasions lead to the inevitable—finding the perfect swimsuit.

From left: Molded Bikini Top & Bottom, Sequin Push-Up Top & Bottom, Studded Bikini Top & Bottom.

However, finding the perfect swimsuit is more than just looking good at the beach–it allows you to enhance your body, play up your curve appeal and feel confident from poolside to seaside. Show off your best assets, be it your shoulders, legs or bust, with colors, prints and shimmering embellishments.

Item shown: Nautical Stripe & Rhinestone Bikini.

Brazilian bottoms, ruffled details and stripes create the illusion of curves—a smaller chested woman would want to wear the ruffles or stripes up top, while a slim-hipped woman might choose a high-cut or ruffled bottom.

From left: Rhinestone String Bikini, Beaded Cold Shoulder Cover-Up and Sequin Beach Tote.

Worried about a less than perfect stomach? (March sneaks up on us every year, too. Oops.) Look for tie sides or banded bottoms to alleviate the chance of a little bulge or simply slip on a cover-up for beach side glam.

Find the styles above and even more at fredericks.com—and remember, whether you’re the pin-up by the pool, working on her tan, or the flirt who thinks nothing of a quick dip in the surf, do it with confidence (because you look good)!

Midweek Inspiration: Photography, Fashion & More!

September 12, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Trend Alert, Uncategorized

Between the glory that is New York Fashion Week and Karl Lagerfeld’s birthday, we at Frederick’s are feeling very inspired. Here’s a round-up of our favorite images this week (Zac Posen, swoon) including Lagerfeld’s iconic style, Choupette and the easy way to incorporate jet set into your everyday style via Vera Wang.

Meet Karl Lagerfeld and the most famous feline in fashion, Choupette. With two nannies and as many Ipads to keep her happy, she has the glamorous life that cats (and most people) can only dream of! Karl is of course wearing his signature black glasses, ponytail, and riding gloves, a look he’s adhered to since the early ’90s. See pictures of a young, very buff Karl here.

Zac Posen took the spring by storm with retro, ladylike silhouettes, atomic prints and heavy bangs. The return of this ’60s-inspired look is definitely encouraging us to go through our closets and repurpose some of last year’s staples!

Forget hopping a plane! Vera Wang has brought the lush fabrics of India to you for spring. This is especially exciting given the rich colors and jewel-toned accents–you can definitely transition fall’s offerings into the next season. Win-win!

We know fall has just launched in stores around you, in fact we just put out the new version of our catalog here, but it’s never to early to start looking ahead!  What runway looks have had you swooning?

Postcards From Paradise

August 24, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Uncategorized

Last weekend, we took a little jaunt to Northern Baja. We took a ton of pictures and wanted to share some with you! We stayed in the little town of La Mision, just south of Rosarito. Fun fact: Rosarito was the Hollywood of Mexico during the ’20s!

It was an incredible trip, with countless hour spent lounging on the beach in front the famous La Fonda Hotel , which has a well-deserved reputation for hospitality and delicious food. We can’t wait to go back!

This Saturday and Sunday are looking a little dull after 48 hours in paradise, so we’re turning to you. What are your plans this weekend?

Discovered: The world’s oldest bras!

July 25, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Uncategorized

It appears that the women of the Middle Ages were way ahead of their time! Researchers have unearthed bras in an Austrian castle that date to the 1400′s. Historians had previously believed the bra was introduced in the 1800′s–it was thought to have been invented when corsets began to lose their popularity.

The four bras found were made of linen and decorated with lace, showing that they weren’t just for functionality, but were also a source of enjoyment. Hilary Davidson, fashion curator for the London Museum, described the find as the “missing link” in woman’s underwear.

The Fascinators & Fashions of the Royal Ascot

June 21, 2012 By: fohblogcreative Category: Fashion & Beauty, Uncategorized

The Royal Ascot is the pinnacle of the social season in the U.K., and with this year being the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, you can be sure the fashions were a little more elaborate. First, a little overview for those not up on the strict social calendar taking place across the pond: much like the Kentucky Derby, the Royal Ascot is a horse race. And again, like the Derby, the race goers don their finest frippery and most outrageous hats, fascinators and accessories—and the crowds gather to watch the pageantry as much as the horses.

However, the Royal Ascot lasts for a full five days in June. There are three separate enclosures, each with a very specific dress code. For instance, if you wanted to sit in the Royal Enclosure or even to just pass through and you had bare shoulders or were lacking a hat, you would be turned away. Luckily, “fashion police” sit outside the gate with fascinators and pashminas for the ladies and ties for the gentlemen with none.

Also unlike the Derby, the British aristocrats have had centuries to perfect the most incredible race day ensembles as seen above! What do you think? Do you wish there were more formal occasion to wear large hats or are you glad that style isn’t as popular over here?
